Ubuntu Brainstorm, Day 2

1 March, 2008 (10:12) | Ubuntu

Right, here are new stats:

  • 2000 ideas (which a good proportion of interesting ideas, and around 100 concerning the website itself)
  • 7800 users

So basically, we are overwhelmed :) At first we planned to first use the most voted ordering as frontage for a few weeks, and then, when the number of ideas would have began to be non negligible, we would have switched to a new ordering helping new great ideas to show up on the top page. But it seems I will have to hurry up a bit!

Over last evening, I’ve been gathering input here and there, in Brainstorm, forums, IRC, LP bugreports, and I have compiled this TODO list. Let me know if you have some new interesting idea! Meanwhile, I’ll start on the most pressing issues.

« A nice idea!

 Craziest week end ever »

… I hate touchpads.

To continue, Ubuntu has reached critical mass. Really. This website does prove it’s doing damn good.

“* Spam handling (1)
** Limit number of line of idea description
** Set a time limit between two idea post”

No, no, no :(. And again please no. That will not solve the problem, and will only make people unhappy.

report button + volunteer mods will do it.

“** Limit number of line of idea description”
=> Don’t worry, it’s my TODO list I use to work on the website, It is not always clear! Here users will still be able to put up to 5000 chars, like now, but in front page, we will cut at 30 lines. The rest can be read on the idea page.

Next batch of updates probably monday, stay tuned :)

Cool.

Meanwhile, the place has grown to be ninety-three pages long. I suspect quite a few more people came out, ones that don’t patritipate in launchpad much…
